Mahabalipuram - This lovely seaside village was constructed during the reign of the Pallava Dynasty. Today, the Shore Temple, the largest bas-relief in the world called Arjuna's Penance, and the famous and beautiful mandapams have made this town world famous.

» Kanchipuram - This temple city forms one of the major tourists attractions and is counted among one of the seven sacred cities of India. The magnificent temples remind us of the wondrous Dravidian architecture. It is quite famous because of the wonderful craftsmanship of the kanchi weavers, the makers of perhaps the finest silk fabric in the world.
» Rameswaram -It lies 176 km from Madurai. This place is a holy spot for the Hindus. The magnificent Ramanathaswamy Temple is well known for its longest corridors in the country, extending over a length of 1,220 m long with its marvelous carved pillars. Those who visit here bathe in the sacred waters of Agaitheertam, a stretch of Clam Sea near the temple.

» Big Mosque- The Wallajah Mosque is also referred to as the "Big Mosque". The mosque is a renowned place of worship for the Muslims.

» Marina Beach - It is situated to the east of Chennai. This beach is said to be one of the longest beaches in India and Asia.

» Parthasarathi Temple - This temple is one of the oldest temples in Chennai built by the Pallavas. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The place is enriched with colourful gopurams and several shrines with beautiful carvings.

» Guindy National Park - This park is an ideal spot for picnic. The park has a snake and children's park. The place has a wealth of trees. The main faunal attraction of this park is the occurrence of rare Indian Antelope popularly known as the "Black Buck", found nowhere in the world except India.

» Fort St. George -It is the first British fort built around 1653 by the British East India Company. This fort has a 20-feet-thick wall. The fort showcases a fine example of the British Architecture.
However, there are other places of interest too like the St. Mary's Church, Kapleshwar Temple, Fort Museum, Little Mount and Mount of St. Thomas.
